Quality Assurance Analyst – Mobile Mapping

As a Quality Assurance Analyst – Mobile Mapping, you will analyze data quality indicators, validate datasets, and support continuous improvement of our mobile mapping products. This position is based at our Head Office in Eelde, near Groningen. Positioned as Associate / Senior as per experience level.
Function Purpose:
To ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of data produced through mobile mapping and LiDAR refinement workflows, supporting delivery readiness and continuous improvement of data quality standards.
Function content:
The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for verifying and validating the outputs of the mobile mapping data refinement process. This includes performing manual and automated quality checks, identifying anomalies, ensuring adherence to internal standards and client specifications, and supporting feedback loops to data specialists and processing teams.
The role contributes to quality KPIs, compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR), and the evolution of QA methodologies in support of scalable, high-quality data delivery.
Position in Organization:
Reports to: DQO Manager.
Collaborates with: LiDAR & Mobile Mapping Data Specialists, Project Managers / Project Leads.
Result areas and responsibilities
- Conduct structured QA reviews of refined LiDAR, image, and metadata outputs.
- Apply defined quality benchmarks and classification standards to check deliverables.
- Verify completeness, positional accuracy, blurring compliance, and file integrity.
- Validate AI/automated refinement outcomes and flag deviations or anomalies.
- Record and report QA scores, comments, and issue logs in centralized systems.
- Support feedback to Data Specialists for corrective action and training needs.
- Contribute to calibration of QA tools, checklists, and scoring matrices.
- Apply geospatial domain knowledge to interpret LiDAR point clouds, imagery, and spatial metadata in a mapping context.
- Assist in sample audits, pilot evaluations, and process validation initiatives.
- Ensure all data meets regulatory compliance (GDPR, road safety, etc.).
- Escalate recurring quality issues and propose continuous improvement measures.
Requirements and qualifications
- MBO+/HBO working level; preferably with background in GIS, QA, or geodata.
- Familiarity with mobile mapping outputs (LiDAR, panoramic imagery, metadata).
- Experience or familiarity with geospatial technologies and tools (e.g., GIS platforms, LiDAR processing/viewing tools, spatial data formats).
- Basic knowledge of refinement workflows, quality concepts, and QA metrics.
- Hands-on experience with QA tools, GIS viewers, or annotation platforms (preferred).
- Awareness of GDPR/data privacy as it applies to spatial content.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in other languages is a plus
