We are looking for Mobile Mapping Drivers in the Apeldoorn area.
Function Purpose:
To collect high-quality spatial data in public areas using a mobile mapping vehicle equipped with sensors, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and data integrity throughout missions.
Function Content:
The Mobile Mapping Operator is responsible for safely operating a sensor-equipped vehicle to collect spatial and street-level data.The role includes pre-mission preparation of the vehicle and sensors, basic maintenance tasks, data handling, and field reporting. Operators may also support basic data refinement or annotation when required.
Position in Organization:
Reports to: Operations Manager, Mobile Mapping
Collaborates with: Fleet Coordinator, Project Leads, Technical Support & Maintenance Teams
Result areas and responsibilities
- Drive and operate a data-collection vehicle equipped with multiple mobile mapping sensors in public spaces.
- Prepare and verify sensor systems and equipment functionality before missions.
- Follow safety and route instructions and comply with traffic and legal regulations.
- Regularly clean and maintain sensors and vehicles to ensure optimal performance.
- Identify and resolve minor technical issues or escalate to technical support.
- Log mission metadata, anomalies, and report field conditions whenever required.
- Support in data handling, disk transfers, and annotations when required.
- Contribute to indoor mapping activities, where applicable.
- Be available for flexible schedules, including early mornings, weekends, or cross-border travel.
Additional Responsibilities
In addition to the above tasks, the role may also include office-based activities such as:
- Data refinement: Processing and cleaning collected data
- Data annotation: Labelling and categorizing collected data
Requirements and qualifications
- MBO level of working and thinking.
- Valid driver’s license (B; E is preferred).
- Familiarity with English for field communication and reporting.
- Basic technical understanding of vehicle and sensors is an advantage.
- Experience in field-based operations is an advantage.
