Position Overview
You will be joining our tech department of around 35 colleagues.
In this role, you will design and build modern, responsive user interfaces that deliver an exceptional user experience. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn UI/UX concepts into scalable, accessible solutions, ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability. This position involves working with modern web technologies and frameworks while contributing to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand user needs, manage development cycles, and ensure customer data security. You’ll also release your solutions into production with the support of your team.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Work closely with the development team and internal stakeholders
- Translate UI/UX designs from Figma (or similar tools) into responsive, accessible web components
- Maintain and evolve a shared design system and component library (e.g., Storybook)
- Ensure interfaces meet accessibility standards (WCAG) and support localization
- Structure scalable Next.js applications, including routing and layouts
- Implement robust data fetching and state management (e.g., React Query, Zustand/Redux)
- Integrate REST/GraphQL APIs and handle authentication and authorization flows
- Optimize frontend performance and responsiveness
- Create and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) using tools like Jest, React Testing Library, and Playwright
- Monitor and resolve frontend bugs, regressions, and performance issues
- Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions
- Write and maintain clear documentation for components, patterns, and frontend standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Relevant HBO/WO diploma, for example in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in a front-end development role
- Available at least 32 hours a week
- Strong proficiency in React and Next.js
- Solid experience with TypeScript and modern CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind CSS)
- Familiarity with state management and data-fetching patterns
- Experience building responsive, accessible, and performant web applications
- Knowledge of testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright)
- Understanding of web security principles (e.g., XSS, CSRF)
- Experience with geospatial visualization libraries (e.g., Orbit, Cesium, MapLibre, Three.js) is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a flexible mindset.
